Professor Turki Bani-Khaled, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, on Tuesday 12/3/2019 signed a memorandum of
understanding with Mrs Lina Hourani, Representative of the Corporate of Social Responsibility at Al Ahli Holding Group. The two parties discussed possible frames of cooperation, focussing in particular on encouraging students at the School of Foreign Languages to volunteer in teaching
English to underprivileged students at Jerash Governorate.
During the meeting, Mrs Hourani outlined the operating mechanism
of the Jerash Education initiative, which
aims at bringing knowledge closer to those deprived of it. Professor Bani-Khaled commended on the kind of work Alahli
Holding Group is doing in Jordan and the entire region. He also expressesd his utmost pleasure to partner with Alahli, chiefly for the role it plays in reinforcing practice-based educational strategies and active student participation.
The meeting, which was attended by the Dean’s administrative
team, concluded with Dr. Sharif
Alghazo, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, and Dr. Hala Abu Taleb, Assistant Dean
for Community Service and External Communication, agreeing to coordinate with the
Student Union representatives to publicise and promote this initiative among students at the Faculty.
