Under the patronage of the Vice President for Humanities Faculties, International Relations and Partnerships Affairs, Dr. Nahid Omeish, the Chinese Language Section at the School of Foreign Languages held the “International Chinese Language Day” celebration, in the presence of the Chinese Cultural Attaché Shi Wei, a number of embassy officials, Chinese Cultural Center officials, and the Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Dr. Adnan Al-Sammadi, Vice Dean for Administrative Affairs and Partnerships, Dr. Mais Al-Sharaa, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Zaydoun Al-Sharaa, and the Head of the Asian Languages Department, Dr. Dina Salman.
The event included many cultural activities, such as introducing Chinese tea culture, Chinese calligraphy, the origin of Chinese symbols, providing an explanation of some historical monuments, in addition to presenting some traditional Chinese dishes and various cultural competitions. The Chinese language students showed positive cooperation to make this event a success, expressing their happiness with the celebration.
This event was organized under the supervision of Dr. Yousef Khatayba, and the language teachers in the department. The event was also covered by the Chinese Central Television station and the Chinese News Agency (Xinhua).
