Interactive Session on Political and Social Life in France

Dr. Amal Khaleefa, from the Department of French Language and Literature, organized an interactive session for her students enrolled in the courses "Contemporary French Civilization" and "Aspects of Social and Economic Life in France" on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. The session was held in collaboration with Mr. Farouk Kirwani, an expert on French political affairs.

The session covered various topics, including the concept of identity, the French secular model, the structure of political parties, and a discussion of several current social issues in France.

About ten native French speakers, who teach Arabic at the French Institute of the Near East in Jordan, participated in the session, providing students with a valuable opportunity for direct interaction and discussion with native speakers.

The session included group and practical activities, such as debates and analytical exercises focusing on the differences between right-wing and left-wing political discourse in France. The students expressed great interest in the content of the session and praised the importance of this type of dialogue in supporting their language skills and enhancing their understanding of the contemporary cultural and political context.|
