Dear Graduates and Alumni,
In response to your feedback in the evaluation survey distributed online to gauge graduates and alumni satisfaction of the educational experience received at the School of Foreign Languages, we would like to inform you of the following recommendations we made for the second semester 2022/2023:
1- To attend to graduates’ demand for further career advising and guidance, the School of Foreign Languages already organized three training workshops in the first semester to help students prepare for the job market and increase their employability opportunities (CV writing and job interview skills, business entrepreneurship in languages, and English communication in the workplace). In the second semester, the School will organize a Graduate/Alumnus Day which will be open to alumni and students approaching graduation and will include a job fair (for a number of companies and schools) as well as training sessions held by experts and employers, who will introduce the types of available jobs and skills needed to work in the field. Also in collaboration with the JU Alumni Office, a number of staff members from the School of Foreign Languages will organize a series of workshops under the title “English for Employability” (Written business correspondence, Oral business Communication, etc).
2- To promote the educational environment and improve the facilities available for students with disability, the School of Foreign Languages plans to install an elevator in its chief classrooms building.
3- In response to students’ need to prepare for national and international exams in the feed, the School of Foreign Languages will organize a workshop to help students prepare for IELTS, presented by Dr Abdul Rahman Altakhayneh.
4- To address the gap in the student to teaching staff ratio, the School has already set up an actuarial plan for the next three years for recruiting members of staff and for sponsoring postgraduate students to study abroad and be recruited to teach at the School upon their return. The implementation of the plan is already well under way.
Always Striving for excellence.
