This course tends to offer the participant an ample understanding of contemporary Chinese thought. After situating contemporary China in her ideological and political context, participants proceed to analyze the nation's intellectuals, thinkers, social and human development The final object will be an attempt to identify Chinese thought in a broad sense. This course focuses on Chinese thought with an emphasis on how Chinese thought can be compared and contrasted with other nations’ thought.
