​Sino-Korean vocabulary and Sino-Korean characters are necessary for advanced and superior level of knowledge in Korean. Sino-Korean characters are used differently from the same Chinese characters used in contemporary China in terms of pronunciation, meaning, and word formation. Professional- level Korean speakers need to be able to read at least 1800 Chinese-Korean characters. Reinforcement of collocation patterns and semantic association of Cino- Korean vocabulary will be part of this course.​
