Background to the Program and Subject Area
This program was established in the first semester of the academic year 2006/2007, with staffing support from the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Korea Foundation. Currently, (169) students are enrolled in this specialization. In cooperation with the Korean Foundation, the university offers scholarships for one semester of study in South Korea.
Vision Statements of the Program:
The vision of the Korean Language Section is to focus on achieving leadership and excellence in building a generation of language speakers in light of the challenges faced by the knowledge community, as it is the University of Jordan's window to the world.
Mission statements of the program:
Offering exceptional teaching approaches and generating high-quality research aligning with the university's overarching mission as a research-focused institution. This involves cultivating an enriching educational atmosphere conducive to intellectual creativity, while also fostering cultural connections between Jordan and the global community, with a special emphasis on Korea. Moreover, it entails establishing impactful strategic collaborations on both regional and global scales.
Program Aims:
1. Equipping both local and international job markets with graduates specialized in the Russian language, expanding their global perspectives through interaction with modern theories of globalization.
2. Embracing the international community and engaging with its diverse languages to confront contemporary challenges and meet the demands of the local, regional, and global labor markets.
3. Providing students with the skills for cultural exchange with various civilizations, enabling Jordanian society to benefit from the positive ideas, initiatives, and practices of both Eastern and Western cultures, thereby serving the interests of Jordan and the broader Arab-Islamic community.
4. Establishing impactful strategic partnerships at both regional and global levels.
