Dr. Bin Khalifa obtained her PhD in Electronics and Artificial Intelligence Systems from the Pascal Institute in Clermont-Ferrand, France, and her Master's degree in Engineering from the School of Mines in Saint-Étienne, France. Her research focuses on trustworthy and ethical artificial intelligence, secure Internet of Things systems engineering, and the governance of emerging technologies. Dr. Bin Khalifa is an active member of the Artificial Intelligence Committee of the Supreme Council for Science and Technology and provides consulting to organizations on the responsible use of artificial intelligence and the regulation of modern technologies. In her lecture, she talked about the precautions for using artificial intelligence tools before outlining the tools and programs that students can use in a responsable and conscious way.

The visit aimed to introduce students to the institute's scientific library, which specializes in Middle Eastern studies, as well as to its three research departments dedicated to historical and archaeological sciences, Arabic studies, and contemporary social and human sciences. This provided students with a deeper understanding of the nature of the research conducted in these fields and the meeting with several French-speaking researchers and experts working in Jordan and had the opportunity to listen to brief presentations of their research projects in French. The visit further included a language-exchange activity between the department's students and francophone students residing in Jordan for a full year to study Arabic and immerse themselves in Jordanian culture and society. This visit falls within the University of Jordan's strategy to broaden its students' academic and professional horizons by enhancing their engagement with experts and researchers, developing their intellectual and linguistic skills, and better preparing them for the job market.

This visit is part of the ongoing academic and training cooperation between the University of Jordan and the Jordanian Armed Forces, which aims at enhancing the exchange of experiences as well as developing the professional skills of the employees working in the fields of language education and translation in the the Jordanian Armed Forces. During the seminar, which included fruitful and interactive discussions with the students, the experts provided comprehensive introductory presentations about the Military Language Institute and the languages taught there, in addition to showcasing the latest educational mechanisms and strategies that align with the requirements of military and linguistic services. The seminar also addressed the importance of translation and its types in military and security contexts, with a special emphasis on teaching the Turkish language at the institute and its pivotal role in supporting regional military communication and cooperation.
Dr. Ali Miqdadi, the symposium coordinator, stressed the importance of investing in the development of qualified human resources and keeping up with the latest advancements in the fields of education and training to achieve institutional excellence. The head of the Asian Languages Department, Dr. Malek Sawalha, spoke about the Turkish Language Section in the Asian Languages Department, the quality of its students, and the department's constant keenness to follow up on the scientific and practical qualification of students, as well as the importance of coordination with Turkish committees to introduce the department's graduates to the labor market and help them find job opportunities after graduation. Marwan Al-Jarrah, the faculty held a scientific seminar entitled "Career Preparation in the Field of Diplomacy" for university students, presented by His Excellency Ambassador Zaid Abu Hassan from the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, in the presence of a number of faculty and administrative staff members, and vice deans at the faculty. During his speech, Al-Jarrah welcomed the attendees, saying: “Today, I am pleased to welcome you most warmly to the University of Jordan, to the School of Foreign Languages, which is a beacon of communication between people from different cultures. I am very happy to host His Excellency Ambassador Zaid Abu Hassan; to talk about a very important topic in our current era, which is career preparation in the diplomatic field, and to shed light on the requirements of the diplomatic labor market. We at the School of Foreign Languages believe that preparing a new generation of young people capable of engaging in diplomatic work requires cooperation with institutions of the size of the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs. In light of rapid global changes, the diplomatic labor market has become in dire need of specialized people, characterized by professionalism, and the ability to communicate effectively with different people around the world. The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs is a model to be emulated in representing the homeland, conveying its messages that relies on the values of tolerance, understanding, and international cooperation. During the workshop, Dr.. Ashraf Al-Lawama, Head of the Department of French Language and Literature and the coordinator of the seminar, welcomed the attendees and said: "Your presence with us today is a testament to our joint commitment to enhancing and developing our national competencies; to be at a high level of professionalism and readiness in all fields, including the field of the diplomatic corps; to represent our beloved country in all forums, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, may God protect and preserve him. Diplomatic work requires comprehensive preparation that goes beyond theoretical knowledge to build practical capabilities that include negotiation skills, the art of communication, multilingualism, and understanding political and economic transformations on the international scene. From this standpoint, we realize the importance of continuous preparation and qualitative training to prepare future ambassadors and representatives of the nation in a manner that convey the image of our country on the global stage. In this context, we look forward today to benefiting from your expertise and experiences, Your Excellency the Ambassador, and to be guided by your valuable ideas and experiences on the best practices in the field of preparing and training our students to join diplomatic work. During his speech, Abu Hassan highlighted the importance of those working in the diplomatic corps in representing their countries and conveying the true image of their societies, whether through the available diplomatic channels or the impressions they leave on the other party; which creates a good mutual relationship between all parties, based on international laws and diplomatic charters, and Jordan's positions in all international forums embodied this. Abu Hassan explained the types of jobs in the diplomatic sector, and the nature of the skills and conditions that must be met by job holders, according to the specialization. In turn, the students and attendees thanked the university and the School of Foreign Languages for holding such important seminars that enhance the knowledge and skills that provide them with awareness and insight into the reality of the labor market in various specializations.

The Dean’s representatives are the Vice Dean for Partnerships and Career Readiness Affairs, Dr. Mais Al-Shara’h, Ms. Najwa Al-Junaid from the Department of French Language and Literature, and Dr. Esraa Hasan from the Department of Asian Languages.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on the development of an educational curriculum for the subject of career readiness in the field of tourism at the School of Foreign Languages / University of Jordan, and the importance of linking it to the labor market.

The lecture was supervised by the course teacher, Ms. Selmin Salihi, and attended by Dr. Utku Mehmet Öden and Mr. Ferhat Tamkoç from Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center. The lecture was of great importance in terms of shedding light on some Turkish writers and poets from the Republic era to the present day, and this had a great impact on the literary and poetic passion of the fourth-year Turkish Language section students.

This workshop aligns with the directives of the Dean of the School, Dr. Marwan Al-Jarrah, to prepare students for the job market and implement his vision of integrating career readiness into the School’s curriculum.
The workshop, led by Dr. Mais Al-Shara’h, Vice Dean for Partnerships and Career Readiness Affairs, included a detailed presentation by Ms. Rahma Al-Torah, the organization’s representative, on DAAD’s role in promoting cultural and academic exchange between Germany and Jordan. She also highlighted the academic and professional qualifications and scholarships the organization supports for those interested in scientific research and academic development, especially for those seeking to pursue graduate studies in both scientific and literary fields in Germany.
The workshop featured a segment on the significance of academic cooperation between the Organization and the School, presented by Dr. Nadia Naqrash. Additionally, experiences were shared by two students from the School who received scholarships through the DAAD.
Ms. Rahma Al-Torah also discussed training opportunities, academic resources, and various scholarships beneficial to all University students, such as those available for engineering and medical students. She shared her experience with employment opportunities in Jordan as an alumni from the School of Foreign Languages with a degree in German and English studies.
Employment opportunities available to language certificate holders from the Organization’s partnering institutes, as well as job prospects within DAAD, were also discussed. The event concluded with remarks from the School’s own faculty member, Mrs. Sarah Saleh, who shared her experience as a recipient of a scholarship from DAAD.
The workshop saw significant interest among students, who raised numerous questions about the academic programs and scholarships offered by the Organization, as well as studying in Germany, reflecting their eagerness to benefit from available academic and professional development opportunities.

The seminar was organized by Dr. Ashraf Allawama, Head of the Department of French Language and Literature, with Mr. Hani Al-Masaadeh, President of the Jordanian Tour Guides Association, as the guest speaker.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Ashraf Allawama highlighted the University of Jordan’s commitment, represented by its president, Professor Dr. Nathir Obeidat, to the subject of “Career Preparation.” This course was introduced into the academic curriculum this year due to its role in enhancing students’ practical and applied skills alongside their academic education.
The seminar addressed several key areas in the tourism sector. Mr. Hani Al-Masaadeh spoke about the laws and regulations governing the tourism industry and its pivotal role in Jordan’s economy. He also highlighted the diverse career opportunities within the tourism sector, including tour guiding, hotel management, and tourism marketing, emphasizing the essential skills required, such as communication, management, and proficiency in foreign languages. Additionally, he discussed the importance of passing certified language exams to qualify for the tour guide training course.
The seminar witnessed remarkable attendance and high engagement from students, with discussions reflecting their keen interest in this promising field and how to prepare for a career in it.
