Master in Translation French - Arabic / Program Intended Learning Outcomes

At the successful completion of the Master’s Program in Translation French-Arabic, students should be able to:

 

1.Translate accurately different types of texts from French to Arabic and vice versa and employ professionally translation theories on texts to be translated.

 

2. Apply and evaluate translation theories and employ effectively this knowledge in translation and documentary research.

 

3. Evaluate and critique the texts to be translated, compare them and summarize the main ideas.

 

4. Identify and solve problems of translation posed by the text intended to be translated and show a professional ability to deal with texts in various areas.

 

5. Employ the skills of critical thinking and creativity in the analysis and investigation of issues related to translation and to French language.

 

6. Utilize modern technologies and software to translate various texts efficiently and effectively to access databases in the field of specialization to develop knowledge and generate new knowledge.

 

7. Communicate effectively in French in different academic, professional and social settings.

 

8. Employ research methodologies and scientific tools in the preparation of thesis or any research related to translation.

 

9. Demonstrate ability to develop self professionally and to respect other cultures and values.

 

10. Work efficiently independently and/or within a team on any assigned projects and adhere to professional ethics in their job-related tasks and show respect of cultural diversity.
