Bachelor’s Degree in Russian and English Languages / Program Overview

Background to the Program and Subject Area

At the commencement of the academic year 2010/2011, a bachelor's program in Russian and English was established. This initiative stemmed from the willingness of the Russian embassy to support the teaching of Russian language at the University of Jordan, leading to the signing of an agreement with the “Russian World" Fund and the subsequent inauguration of the Russian Corner at the university. Additionally, the Russian government offers scholarships to students for summer study programs in Russia. Currently, there are 139 students enrolled in this program. The curriculum of this department encompasses language and literature subjects in both Russian and English. A total of 144 credit hours are required for graduation, with 60% of the coursework focusing on Russian language and literature, and the remaining 40% on English language subjects.
