A lecture for college and university students entitled "Comparison between Old and Modern Turkish and its use in cultural and historical interactions between Turkey and Arab countries."

​On Sunday, March 5, 2023 the Turkish Section at the Department of Asian Languages held a lecture for college and university students entitled "Comparison between Old and Modern Turkish and its use in cultural and historical interactions between Turkey and Arab countries." The conference was presented by Professor Zekeriyya Kurşun from the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University as part of the Erasmus program. The Head of the Department of Asian Languages, Dr. Bagdagul Mussa, opened the conference with a welcoming speech to the guests and a brief introductory about Prof. Dr. Zekeriyya. Then, Prof. Dr. Zekeriyya spoke about the Old and Modern Turkish language and its use in cultural and historical aspects, emphasizing the importance of learning it in building communication bridges between Turkey and Arab countries. He also discussed the importance of the Ottoman language. Mr. Hasan Aslan, the Educational Advisor, delivered a thank-you speech to the Turkish and English Language Department and to Prof. Dr. Zekeriyya for the valuable lecture, praising the efforts of students in learning Turkish. Mr. Ensar Fırat, the Director of the Turkish Cultural Center Yunus Emre, also briefly spoke about the importance of the Ottoman language in understanding the history and civilization of Turkey. The workshop was concluded with questions from the students and taking a group photo.
