Dean's Message

I am delighted to welcome you to the official website of the School of Foreign Languages, a school that acts as a bridge for connecting the diverse cultures and civilizations of the world.

Founded in 2008, the School of Foreign Languages currently offers eleven undergraduate programs in European and Asian languages, alongside seven postgraduate programs. Our teaching approaches include face to face, blended, and online learning. The school stands out for its innovation, cultural diversity, and the application of modern teaching techniques, all aimed at fostering students' communication skills, continuous learning, and critical thinking abilities.

In 2023, the school earned international accreditation from Evalag for four of its programs: Applied English, English Language and Literature, French Language and Literature, and the Spanish and English Languages program. This year, we are anticipating accreditation for five additional programs from the same agency: The French and English double major program, the English and Italian Languages program, the English and Russian Languages program, the Master's in Linguistics, and the Master's in English Literature.

The school has also made notable strides in the QS global rankings, securing a position in the 251-300 range worldwide in the disciplines of English Language and Literature, as well as Linguistics. Both the Bachelor's programs in English Language and Literature and Applied English have been integrated into the National Qualifications Framework, marking a crucial step in maintaining the quality of higher education programs and ensuring that academic qualifications align with the needs of the job market. The schhol is actively working to integrate the remaining programs this year, ensuring they meet national standards and prepare students for the demands of future employment, thereby boosting the graduates' competitiveness on both local and international levels.

Furthermore, the school has recently updated its study plans across various programs to better address the professional and career readiness requirements of students. The school offers its valued students a range of educational technology resources as part of its infrastructure. This includes language and computer labs, multimedia rooms, and cultural corners such as the American, Turkish, French, and Spanish corners, among others. To strengthen local and international partnerships, the school actively organizes cultural activities and workshops in collaboration with international partners. It also hosts conferences, seminars, exhibitions, and cultural weeks celebrating the countries whose languages are taught at the school.

The school equips the workforce with highly qualified professionals adept at utilizing technology in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, with a strong emphasis on preparing students for their careers. It's important to highlight the school's commitment to research, as school members continuously engage in research projects to develop their academic, practical, and research skills. This is achieved through research groups focused on sharing and exchanging knowledge. Additionally, our students, faculty members, and staff also participate in community service projects and volunteer work, reflecting our collective sense of social responsibility.

In conclusion, I warmly invite you to join the School of Foreign Languages by visiting us or embarking on this educational journey with us. I trust you will find the website both enjoyable and informative, providing everything you need to know about the school.

Dean of the School of Foreign Languages,

Dr. Marwan Al-Jarrah.
