Dean Meets Consul of Polish Embassy in Amman

On Wednesday, March 12, a meeting was held at the School of Foreign Languages between Mr. Adrian Browarczyk, Consul of the Polish Embassy in Amman, and Dr. Marwan Jarrah, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, along with his team. The discussions focused on strengthening the presence of the Polish language and culture within the university through various initiatives.

As part of these efforts, Polish will be featured in the university’s Culture Day, with the participation of Dr. Rogalski and in collaboration with students from the School of Foreign Languages and the School of Arts and Design. Dr. Jarrah expressed his support for this initiative, emphasizing its role in promoting cultural diversity and academic exchange. Additionally, starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, Polish will be included in the university curriculum, making it accessible to all students beyond the School of Foreign Languages.
Further discussions explored the possibility of establishing a Polish Room dedicated to language learning. Mr. Browarczyk expressed the Polish Embassy’s willingness to support this initiative, along with scholarships and summer language programs offered by NAWA (The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange). The Polish Embassy has allocated five spots for a month-long Polish summer course in Poland.
Dr. Jarrah reaffirmed the School of Foreign Languages' commitment to these initiatives and welcomed continued cooperation with the Polish Embassy. Discussions will continue in an upcoming meeting with NAWA to further develop academic and cultural ties between the University of Jordan and Poland.
