Lecture titled “The Power of the French Language in Global Career Development and Career Readiness in Healthcare”

As part of the School of Foreign Languages’ efforts at the University of Jordan to broaden students’ horizons within the “Career Readiness” course, we were pleased to host Dr. Farhan Alenezi from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Farhan Alenezi delivered an engaging lecture to French language students enrolled in the Career Readiness course, under the supervision of Mr. Omar Dabayebeh, and with the support and guidance of Dr. Ashraf Al-Luama, Head of the Department of French Language and Literature at the University of Jordan, titled:
“The Power of the French Language in Global Career Development and Career Readiness in Healthcare.”

He is a medical doctor with a Master’s degree in Innovation and Leadership in Healthcare and has also pursued academic studies at the Catholic University in France.

The lecture highlighted the role of the French language in opening diverse professional opportunities within the healthcare sector, particularly for non-medical graduates. Key topics included:
Specialized medical translation.
Careers in pharmaceutical and medical equipment companies.
Import and trade with Francophone countries.
Research and documentation in health-related fields.
Administrative roles in hospitals and healthcare centers.
Employment with international health organizations requiring strong linguistic and cultural skills.

This session was part of a broader effort to bridge academic learning with real-world career development, equipping students with the tools they need to pursue international opportunities using their linguistic and cultural competencies.
