The Department of French at the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Al al-Bayt University, in collaboration with the Department of French Language and Literature at the University of Jordan, organized a cultural celebration on the occasion of International Francophonie Day. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Al al-Bayt University, Dr. Mohammad Al-Khatib, along with several faculty members and students from both universities.
The event was organized under the supervision of Dr. Isabelle Bernard from the Department of French Language and Literature at the University of Jordan. The program featured diverse performances by students, including artistic, theatrical, and poetic presentations that reflected the spirit of Francophonie and the beauty of the French language.
Three blind students from the French Department at the University of Jordan also participated, sharing their personal experiences in learning French. They emphasized that determination and willpower can overcome challenges, and that language serves as a bridge to empowerment and human connection.
The celebration highlighted the importance of the French language in promoting cultural diversity and civilizational dialogue. It received a strong response from the audience and served as an inspiring platform for cultural exchange.
