  • Background to the Program and Subject Area:

The Applied English program is a modern program that is unique worldwide because it focuses more on the practical aspect of linguistic knowledge.

  • Vision Statements of the Program:

The program aims mainly to build specialized competencies in the field of the English language, achieve leadership and excellence at the local and international levels, and provide the labour market with distinguished graduates who have considerable knowledge, skills, and competencies that enable them to develop scientific research skills and apply them in daily life in addition to using information technology and modern teaching strategies.

  • Mission Statements of the Program:

The program focuses on achieving excellence in wider fields such as teaching, scientific research, and student service through developing high-level educational programs. It also aims to contribute to graduating distinct generations of students who possess science and knowledge and are able to keep pace with modern developments and compete at the local and regional levels.

  • Program Aims:

The objectives of the program  include integrating information technology and employing it elaborately to achieve a more effective learning experience, promoting the concept of lifelong sustainable self-learning, and emphasizing the importance of acquiring sufficient knowledge and developing communication skills using the English language. It also promotes enhancing various linguistic written and oral skills and competencies, establishing high values such as respecting others, appreciating multiculturalism, expressing pride in cultural and national identity, and complying with moral and scientific values and professional integrity. Other objectives include opening broader business prospects in the fields of diplomacy, journalism, tourism, law, public relations, health, translation, and education, in governmental and private local and international organizations and in profit and non-profit institutions.
