Dr. Amal Khaleefa Organizes Academic visit for the Near East (Ifbo)

Dr. Amal Khaleefa from the Department of French at the University of Jordan organized a study visit for a group of her students enrolled in the course Contemporary French Civilization to the French Institute for the Near East (Ifpo) in Amman, on Monday, 17 November 2025.

The visit aimed to introduce students to the institute's scientific library, which specializes in Middle Eastern studies, as well as to its three research departments dedicated to historical and archaeological sciences, Arabic studies, and contemporary social and human sciences. This provided students with a deeper understanding of the nature of the research conducted in these fields and the meeting with several French-speaking researchers and experts working in Jordan and had the opportunity to listen to brief presentations of their research projects in French.

The visit further included a language-exchange activity between the department's students and francophone students residing in Jordan for a full year to study Arabic and immerse themselves in Jordanian culture and society.

This visit falls within the University of Jordan's strategy to broaden its students' academic and professional horizons by enhancing their engagement with experts and researchers, developing their intellectual and linguistic skills, and better preparing them for the job market.
