Orientation with First-year undergraduates in the School


The School of Foreign languages held today, Tuesday, 2022/11/22, a meeting with new students from all programs, chaired by the Dean, Prof. Nahed Amish, and with the  participation of the Assistant Dean for Student and Alumni affairs Dr. Ghadeer Alhasan and each of the heads of departments (Dr. Marwan Al-Jarrah, Dr. Moussa Awad, Dr. Baghdagul Moussa, Dr. Mohammed Al-Agwat / on behalf of the head of the Department of European Languages).

During the meeting, the Dean welcomed the new students and talked about the School, its various programs and the opportunities offered by studying at the school (training, scholarships, cultural exchange). The Dean stressed the importance of academic achievement and raising the GPA, and motivated students to study and persevere by focusing on high competitiveness in the labor market after graduation.

The meeting also discussed the importance of attending lectures regularly and the need to view the University's instructions and the code of conduct on the University's website and the need to comply with them. The dean stressed that the door of communication is always open for students to make comments, inquiries and solve problems, especially through the Office of the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and the heads of departments .

During the meeting,  Assistant Dean for Student and Alumni affairs touched on the role of academic advising at the School and the mechanism of communication with academic advisors, in addition to encouraging students to participate in extracurricular activities provided by the School, in addition to clubs that students can join through the Deanship of student affairs. She also spoke about the importance of investing time in the library and participating in voluntary activities held in coordination with the Community Service and Development Center. Each department head spoke briefly about his department, the programs offered by the department and the importance of adhering to the study plan and guidance when registering subjects.

The last part of the meeting was dedicated to listening to and answering students ' comments and queries.
