The Korean Section at the Department ofAsian Languages held a special seminar entitled “Fields of Translation, Labor Market Demands and Job Opportunities in the Korean Institutions located in Jordan" on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Al-Kindi Auditorium, organized by Dr. Esraa Hasan from the Korean Section. Professors and students of the department have effectively participated in this seminar.
Dr. BagdagulMussa,Head of the Department of Asian Languages, started the seminar with opening speech, where she referred to survey been conducted on the students of the Korean language, showing that the majority of students is eager to work at Korean institutions such as Embassy or Korean companies like Samsung and KOSPO, which is related to the topic of this seminar.
Dr. Hala Abu Taleb,Deputy Dean for Administrative Affairs and Partnerships, delivered a welcoming speech, where she emphasized the importance of cooperation between the University and the Korean institutions and companies located in Jordan.
During the seminar,Ms. Lee, Young-hee, Director-General of the Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and Commercial Attaché, delivered a lecture entitled “All You Need to Know aboutYour Career Path," and Dr. Kim, Gyeong- Sam, CEO ofKorean Southern Power Co., Ltd/ Jordan LLC (KOSPO), delivered a lecture entitled “Korean and Jordanian Work Culture."
After the seminar, there was a Q&A session, where the students asked very important questions related to the seminar's topics and the four best questions have been rewarded.
In conclusion, the distinguished guests and the organizers have been awarded with appreciation letters.
