The School of Foreign Languages, headed by the Dean of the School, Professor Dr. Adnan Al-Smadi, along with the Deputy Dean of the School for Administrative Affairs and Corporations, Dr. Hala Abu Taleb, the Head of the Department of Asian Languages, Dr. Bagdagul Mussa, and the Chinese language lecturer in the department, Dr. Youssef Al-Khataibeh, went to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Jordan and met with the Chinese Cultural Attaché, Ms. Shi Wei, and the Assistant Chinese Cultural Attaché, Ms. Liu Feng Hua, on Monday, 11/27/2023, where ways to develop relations between the two parties were discussed, especially in terms of developing and enhancing Chinese language education at the school.
The issue of converting laboratories into classrooms and many topics related to serving the school and university were also discussed.
The dean handed over the expansion project proposal to the cultural attaché, which aims to provide the necessary infrastructure to transfer the Chinese Language Sectiont to become an independent department in its own right. Mrs. Shi Wei informed that the embassy would study the project proposal through a number of parties in China and the school administration will keep the school informed on any update.
At the end of the visit, the Dean of the School, Professor Dr. Adnan Al-Smadi, extended his gratitude to the Chinese cultural attaché for the warm reception, wishing for more cooperation in the future between the two sides, which in turn would lead to positive results on the students’ performance and their acquisition of the Chinese language.
