The Dean of the School of Foreign Languages at the University of Jordan, Dr. Marwan Al-Jarrah, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Panama to Jordan, José Ulises Lescure, to discuss ways to strengthen academic cooperation between the school and the embassy. The meeting was attended by the school’s vice deans and assistants.
Dr. Al-Jarrah welcomed the ambassador, praising the academic and cultural relations between the two sides and reaffirming the school’s commitment to developing its programs to equip students with advanced skills in Spanish and English. He also introduced the “Career Readiness” course, which the school is currently developing. This course aims to prepare students for careers in embassies and international institutions as part of the university’s efforts to bridge the gap between academic outcomes and labor market demands.
For his part, the ambassador expressed his pleasure at visiting the University of Jordan, which he described as “the best university in Jordan.” He commended the role of the School of Foreign Languages, particularly its Spanish language program, and praised its graduates, noting that some of them are currently employed at his country’s embassy—an indication of the high-quality education the school provides.
At the end of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the importance of continuing their cooperation to enhance academic programs, enrich students’ experiences, and improve their career opportunities.
