French Language and Literature Department Participates in Meeting in Amman Applied University

​The French Department, under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Dr. Ashraf Allawama, Ms. Najwa Al-Junaid, and student Hala Hajjat, Research and Teaching Assistant in the Department, along with a group of students from the Department, participated in the meeting hosted by Amman Applied University College on Monday, April 14, 2025. The meeting brought together the French Ambassador with French language students from several public and private universities and educational institutes in the Kingdom, in the presence of the Cultural Counselor of the French Embassy and representatives from the Canadian and Romanian embassies and the French Institute, and His Excellency Senator Michel Nazzal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordanian Hotel Company, spoke about the tourism sector and its importance. His Excellency Dr. Imad Hijazin, Dean of the College, presented the educational and training programs at Amman College and spoke about the job opportunities available to language students in the tourism field. This meeting featured a dialogue between the French Ambassador, representatives of the Canadian and Romanian embassies, and the students regarding study opportunities in these countries and the career fields available to language students, particularly French. Students from the department also participated in cultural and literary activities organized by the French Institute. This participation falls within the University of Jordan's strategy aimed at enhancing its students' academic and professional horizons, developing their intellectual and linguistic knowledge, and better preparing them for the job market.
