The School of Foreign Languages at the University of Jordan proudly hosted the finals of the "Chinese language Bridge" international competition, a collaborative effort with the Chinese Embassy in Amman and the Chinese Cultural Center. The prestigious event brought together key figures including Mr.Chen Chuandong, Chinese Ambassador to Jordan; Dr. Marwan Al-Jarrah, Dean of the faculty of foreign languages; Dr.Malek Sawalha, Head of the Asian Languages Department; Dr.Yousef Khataibeh, Chinese Language Program Coordinator; alongside faculty members from both Jordanian and Chinese institutions.

In his keynote address, Ambassador Chen underscored the significance of the Chinese language as a gateway to one of the world’s oldest civilizations, stressing its power to deepen cross-cultural ties. He lauded the University of Jordan’s leadership in academic diplomacy, noting its distinction as the first Jordanian university to launch a Chinese language program and its growing reputation as a hub for Chinese students pursuing Arabic studies.

The competition featured outstanding participants from the University of Jordan, Philadelphia University, Amman Arab University, and the Confucius Institute, with top winners earning coveted spots at the global finals in Beijing.
